Gregg Strouse portrays Gamarra's
(Chris DeRose) henchman Cully in
"Desire." Although he played a large
role in kidnapping Louis (Nate
Haden), he later forges a friendship
with him and Cully becomes Louis’
chief aide during his scheming.
Strouse was born in Long Branch, New
Jersey, and raised outside of
Philadelphia before moving to
Malibu, California, as a teenager.
He earned an Environmental Science
degree from UC Berkeley, which led
him to environmental projects such
as working with the Bureau of Land
Management and spending a summer
trapping bobcats. However, a college
acting class inspired him to pursue
theater, which let him to roles in
stage performances of “Beauty and
the Beast,” “The Normal Heart” and
“The Golden Boy,” which won the 2005
East County Herald’s Eastie Award
for best Drama. Strouse, himself,
was named the “2001 Outstanding
Student” at the Los Angeles City
College Theatre Academy.
He currently lives in the Pacific
Beach area in San Diego, where he
enjoys boxing, playing poker,
singing and playing the guitar.
